Genesis 3:15 Messianic Prophecy

 WRITTEN:  approx. 1400 BC

 

          Genesis 3:15    

                                

¹⁵ And I will put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
    and you will strike his heel.”

Based on this Messianic prophecy, it was known that the Messiah's heel will be struck and that He will crush the Serpent's head....

 

FULFILLED:  approx. 33 BC      

John 19: 16-18

('you will strike His heel')

¹⁶ Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.
So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. ¹⁷ Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). ¹⁸ There they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

⁸ The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

Hebrews 2:14-15

¹⁴ Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 

¹⁵ and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
